Since 1988, the Bogotá Ibero-American Theater Festival (Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro De Bogotá) has been held biennially, one of the most important theater festivals on the continent and in the Spanish-speaking world, as well as the largest performing arts festival in the world.
During the festival, Bogotá becomes a large stage where a wide variety of shows are presented, including classical and contemporary theater, dance, circus, puppets and performance. Theater companies from Latin America and other continents participate, offering a rich cultural and artistic diversity.
The works are presented in different stages of the city, as well as in public spaces with a rich offer of street theater that makes art accessible to everyone.
The FITB not only focuses on stage presentations, but also organizes workshops, conferences and academic meetings where theater professionals can exchange knowledge and experiences. These training spaces are crucial for development and innovation in the performing arts. Additionally, the festival has a significant impact on the local economy, attracting tourists and encouraging commerce and hospitality.
The energy and dynamism of the FITB transforms Bogotá into a hotbed of creativity and culture, celebrating the richness and diversity of theater around the world.
The Ibero-American Theater Festival of Bogotá is an event that celebrates the passion for theater, promotes cultural exchange and contributes to the artistic and economic development of the city, consolidating itself as one of the most anticipated and prestigious cultural events on the continent.
