In June the municipality of Norcasia, known as “the water sanctuary of Caldas”, celebrates the Avocado and Tourism Festival (Fiestas del Aguacate y el Turismo ), with which the people of North America pay homage to their most characteristic agricultural product.

The festival has a wide variety of cultural, gastronomic and sports activities for all ages such as a stick horse parade for children, horseback riding, micro soccer, billiards and shuffleboard tournaments, float and parades and the traditional pageant in which Candidates from several municipalities in Caldas and Antioquia compete, exhibiting their beauty and their knowledge about avocados and their cultivation.

You can also enjoy the gastronomic fair where you can taste different preparations with avocado, such as lemonades, desserts and sauces.

In addition to this, in the town's main square there is live music throughout the festival and cultural displays that highlight the musical traditions of the region.

The Avocado and Tourism Festival (Fiestas del Aguacate y el Turismo ) in Norcasia makes June the perfect month to visit Norcasia, where you can not only enjoy the best of local culture and the best preparations with avocado, but it is also a destination of great scenic value with impressive views such as the Amaní reservoir, the waterfalls of the Río Claro or the Cueva de los Guácharos.
